Breezy Layers – SS Pt. XX

May 29, 2017

On the list of great feelings, a crisp outfit that’s weather appropriate has got to be up there. Avoiding that extra layer that drives your sweat machine into overdrive is one of the toughest things to do in these pesky Canadian summers. For the days where your confidence in the weather man is oddly high, use this look as a sounding board for what to rock.

Oliver Spencer has made their name in creating contemporary menswear that can be dressed up or down. No fuss, classic silhouettes that can fit into a plethora of situations. When the sun is beating, try the Aston. A great short sleeve shirt goes a long way in terms of staying comfortable. This one keeps the look very clean and simple, with no chest pocket and a hidden front placket. The darker contrasting colours looks great with a brighter layer underneath, like the Eaton shirt from Universal Works. A Two button collar is a subtle detail that looks great underneath an over shirt. It also sports a long back hem.

We paired this look with the Universal Works Beach Short. These make comfort a priority with a regular fit and drawstring waistband. The lightweight cotton and linen blend pairs well with the beach, like their name would suggest.

The Timex Waterbury utilizes classic watch styling to fly under the radar, but never let you down. It uses a leather strap from the Red Wing shoes tannery in Minnesota, guaranteeing a look that will only look better as it ages.

The new Malibu x Missoni Latigo is a great closed toe sandal option for this season. Malibu Sandals use inspiration from the Mexican Huarache sandal that can be dated back hundreds of years. To modernize it, they swapped traditional leather for a synthetic vegan leather that doesn’t disappoint. Using cruelty-free materials makes them waterproof, which means you don’t have to avoid puddles.
