Why should the guys have all the fun? Menswear and womenswear have long influenced each other, and we want to showcase that through our new blog Genderless. We strive to carry brands that can fit into anyone’s wardrobe rotation. Going forward we are excited to demonstrate how some traditional menswear can be worn by women and look every bit as cool.
In our first instalment Julia put together a look using a mix of brands for a summer feel. When the sun is beating down a great tool to have in your arsenal is the Reversible poplin bucket hat from Norse Projects. The lightweight waterproof material keeps your head dry from poolside splashing or those pesky summer showers. It can be worn with the soft grey or pastel pink, because options are always good. This button down shirt from United is a great warm weather option. It’s a slim fit but can be sized up for a more relaxed look than we show here. As always, United shirts are made in Canada.
Down low, the Stan Ray OG fit Ripstop pants take centre stage. They offer a more relaxed, straight leg fit that makes them more of a centre piece than if they were more traditionally slim. The ripstop material makes sure that normal wear and tear will be taken with grace. These will soften and age well as you wear them. The Adidas Spezial Trainer uses it’s green striped to sit into this look. The highly touted Special line of shoes from Adidas takes inspiration from designs of the past and updating them to fit a plethora of modern looks today.
Everyone likes a good accessory. The Taikan Sherpa tote bag is a well constructed carry-all that promises it can hold whatever you need it to. The military inspired design pairs seamlessly with the Stan Ray taper pant of similar descent. Since we are in deep with the theme of military inspired design, the Timex Weekender chrono comes through to tie this look together. It sports a pilot watch inspired design with a tonally appropriate nylon strap.
This summer wage your war against the tank top and flip flop army with a look like this. It’ll keep you cool, in every way.
