I’m Titus, and I’m the store photographer.
How would you describe your personal style?
I’m a mixed bag of styles. I shoot a lot of weddings, so I have to be pretty classically dressed for those. At the same time I don’t like dressing like everyone else. Modern Utilitarian, if that makes sense. When not there, I really like military inspired clothing. I make sure to not go to overboard with it by balancing it with Japanese, American, and utilitarian type styles. I’m not sure there is really a blanket name for my style, I’ll have to come up with one.
How has your style changed over time?
Working at Uncle Otis has changed my style over time. I moved away from trendy, hype pieces and toward classic staple items. I like the idea of being able to wear something for a long time. I gravitate heavily to clothes with quality. It seems like a no brainer I know, but process matters a lot to me. I look for simplicity too, I find it allows you to mix and match things quite easily.
What’s a past style choice that makes you cringe now?
In high school, the lowriding pants and oversized tees. Buying Extra Large Stüssy t-shirts to get the oversized look. It had it’s time and place, but I’m glad I grew up!
What are some of your favourite brands right now?
To be honest, there are really only about five brands I wear regularly. Engineered Garments, orSlow, Monitaly are a couple. Sneaker wise I prefer New Balance and Adidas over anything else. The design principles of these brands really get me. The inspiration and quality is right up my alley.
What’s one thing that you can’t live without?
My camera for sure! I have a couple but one of them is always with me. For my professional stuff, I use my Canon 5D Mark III. When I’m shooting personally, I use my phone a lot. My go to film camera is a Contax G2. Love that thing.
Where’s your go to coffee spot right now?
I’m more of a tea person, and it’s going to sound lame but I love having my tea at home. It’s part of the perfect relax and unwind routine. I like going out too, but if I had to choose, staying home always wins.
What’s your go to food spot right now? Other than home…
I really like the Cafeteria in J-town. They have really good Curry Katsu! I don’t really like fancy or trendy food. I love comfort food made with love.

Pick Time. What are you digging that’s in store right now?
Well I buy way too much here, so there’s a lot to pick from. I’m loving the orSlow New Yorker pant a lot. I bought them a couple weeks ago, and they’ve been making a regular appearance in my rotation. The fit is loose but tapered, which is a look I really dig. They’re so comfortable, and easy to wear with a t-shirt or layered with a workshirt. Pretty much anything from orSlow is hard for me turn down.
Something we sell here that I use all the time is the Tanner Goods Camera Strap. They’re mad win Portland with really high quality leathers. The one I’ve used has worn in really nicely. It’s perfect for shooting photos on hikes or walking around the city. It doesn’t hurt that it adds a cool aspect to an outfit.
