Kluane Mountaineering

In 1972, Kluane Mountaineering started with two Edmonton climbers who simply needed better gear for real winters and decided to sew it themselves. More than fifty years later, Kluane is still in Alberta, cutting, sewing, and filling high-loft down outerwear one piece at a time by new owner Dylan Lynch and a small crew of sewers. Kluane builds honest equipment engineered to withstand the brutal cold of the Rockies, the Arctic, and our own backyard. There are no shortcuts or mass production lines in their workshop—just time-tested patterns, uncompromising Canadian goose down, and heavy-duty machinery guided by steady hands. Every garment that leaves Kluane's studio carries the quiet pride of true utility, made by people who live in the climate it was created for. Kluane Mountaineering never disappeared and rebranded; they just kept the machines running. Each year Kluane Mountaineering produces a maximum of 350 units.
